Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Engineering Manager - Integrated Solutions & Thermal Installation Engineering is responsible for leading two critical engineering delivery teams:

* The Integrated Solutions Project Engineering team (electrical/power-focused project engineering for large-scale data center and critical infrastructure projects)

* The Thermal Services Installation Engineering team (cooling/HVAC engineering deliverables that support field installation)

This leader will provide technical direction, coaching, and performance management to a combined team of 8-15 engineers while driving profitability, on-time delivery, first-pass quality, standardization, and customer satisfaction across both disciplines. The role ensures seamless engineering packages and support for Vertiv's customers and internal Installation teams, identifies revenue-growth opportunities, and continuously elevates the technical capability of the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and performance management for the Integrated Solutions Project Engineers and Thermal Installation Engineering teams.

2. Collaborate with Project Managers and Program Managers to build realistic engineering schedules and resource forecasts for both Integrated Solutions and Thermal Services opportunities.

3. Own and execute the engineering forecast (NSB, recovery, and resource utilization targets) for both teams; achieve or exceed gross margin and on-time-delivery metrics.

4. Ensure customer-specific standards, specifications, and processes (electrical, mechanical, thermal, controls, BIM/Revit, etc.) are correctly implemented and consistently followed.

5. Actively participate in (or delegate participation to) Engineering/Quoter kick-off calls, Engineer-Installer hand-off calls, and critical customer reviews.

6. Proactively identify, escalate, and support the capture of Potential Change Orders (PCOs) and value-engineering opportunities.

7. Enforce scope control: no work or material shipments beyond quoted scope without written concurrence from the Project Manager and Installation Manager.

8. Own the quality and timeliness of all engineering deliverables (BOMs, drawings, submittals, O&Ms, as-built packages, etc.) prior to release to customers and field teams.

9. Drive standardization and reuse of designs, templates, and tools across Integrated Solutions and Thermal disciplines to improve speed and reduce errors.

10. Champion safety in design and documentation; ensure all deliverables comply with Vertiv safety standards and promote a "zero-incident" culture.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Continuously improve the technical competency of both teams (electrical power distribution, switchgear, UPS, cooling systems, controls integration, energy modeling, etc.) through training, certifications, and knowledge-sharing.

2. Develop individual development plans for direct reports; grow skill sets so engineers consistently exceed productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction metrics.

3. Partner with peer Engineering Managers and the Services Bid Desk team to improve bid accuracy and win rates.

4. Lead or support process-improvement initiatives that benefit both Integrated Solutions and Thermal delivery.

5. Serve as the primary engineering escalation point for complex Integrated Solutions and Thermal projects.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Required

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

* Minimum 8 years of progressive engineering experience in critical power and/or thermal management systems for data centers or mission-critical facilities
