Job Description

Analyze, design, and develop automotive exterior components and concepts. Generate three-dimensional layouts and two-dimensional drawings using CATIA software. Verify the performance and manufacturability of designed components. Calculate and optimize costs and weight of design. Coordinate supporting activity with related departments, suppliers, and factories. Create packaging. Develop new systems and work with manufacturing to develop mass production parts.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering; 3 years of relevant professional experience; 3 years of applicable automotive engineering experience; 3 years of experience utilizing CATIA V5/V6 to create detailed 3D models for automotive exterior parts, and experience utilizing PLM software to store data; 3 years of experience utilizing CATIA V5/V6 to create detailed 2D drawings and specifications for automotive exterior parts; 3 years of experience creating Technical Parts Specifications ensuring quality of development parts to meet customer use expectations; 3 years of experience with benchmarking automotive exterior construction methods understanding detailed development plans to ensure product competitiveness; 3 years of experience evaluating styling concept sketches and clay models to conduct feasibility of exterior construction; 3 years of experience controlling vehicle packaging of exterior components and negotiating with associated design departments and exterior styling to achieve vehicle overall targets with exclusive designs; and 3 years of experience with cost estimates understanding cost of exclusive design to ensure targets are achieved and vehicle costs are competitive. Telecommuting Optional - May work from any location in Ohio subject to company hybrid work policy.
