Overview
FTI is seeking a Senior Weapons Systems Integration Engineer to support integration and modernization of military aircraft systems in a variety of areas including weapons integration, platform integration/qualification, airworthiness and test. A successful candidate has experience performing sustainment and logistics readiness through analytical studies/exercises following disciplined systems engineering processes. This position is at Wright-Patterson AFB, Beavercreek, OH providing solutions to support the multiple modifications on the B-52H bomber.
Responsibilities
Support weapons integration subject matter expertise for all activities including sustainment updates, aircraft interface requirements/test, and new weapon integration/fielding certification.
Actively monitor weapons program developments, issues, and roadmaps for integration assistance and incorporation into the B-52 weapons system.
Analyze and make recommendations to the government in the area of weapons integration following established systems engineering processes.
Review and comment on numerous documents, such as assessment reports, system engineering plans, and other technical documents.
Apply platform-level airworthiness experience for coordinating or integrating aircraft-level certification packages.
Support milestone readiness assessments and budget/cost estimates across all modernization programs
Work with the B-52H SPO to increase FTI technical footprint to further our role providing SME level analysis and resources.
Education/Qualifications
Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
Master's degree in Engineering strongly preferred
8+ years actively working as an aircraft systems, avionics, weapons or related engineer
Ability to think critically, synthesize information from multiple sources into comprehensive plans, identify technical issues, and understand higher level impacts
Familiarity with MS Excel and other MS Office tools to develop concise and presentable information
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills to deliver technical documents and briefings
Ability to work independently with cross functional teams with minimal oversight
Ability to travel (~15% of time)
