RESEA COORDINATOR
Reports To: Program Services Manager
Supervises: Employment Services Professional
Status: Regular, Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Work Location: In-Person, Canton, Ohio

WHO IS WORKFORCE INITIATIVE ASSOCIATION (WIA): WIA's mission is to provide workforce development programs that serve area businesses and prepare adults and youth for worthwhile and sustainable employment, especially recognizing those economically disadvantaged individuals and others in special need, through the US Department of Labor’s Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act federally funded programs. WIA also operates the OhioMeansJobs Centers in Stark and Tuscarawas Counties; a partnership of community organizations providing employment, training, and education resources. The centers are located in Canton and New Philadelphia. WIA staff fulfill roles that directly assist job seeker and business customers with their workforce needs.

 
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: We are looking to add an individual with experience in coordinating daily workflow, desire to lead and develop their team, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude to our team. 

WHAT WE OFFER:

SUMMARY: The RESEA Coordinator oversees and coordinates the day-to-day workflow and activities of the Re-employment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) program that assists Unemployment Insurance (UI) claimants with re-employment assistance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Perform any other duties or tasks consistent with the nature of this position and the goals of the organization.

  • Coordinate the daily operations of the RESEA program.
  • Complete RESEA appointments along with other RESEA employment specialists.
  • Oversee all RESEA appointments, scheduling, and selection of claimants. 
  • Monitor all RESEA cases to assure consistent quality in program service delivery. 
  • Train all staff in performing RESEA services and coordinate their work with other organizational teams.
  • Supervise assigned RESEA staff.
  • Evaluate RESEA staff performance and assess opportunities for professional development.
  • Ensure RESEA staff provide exemplary customer service by maintaining regular communications with staff regarding organizational operations, policies, and procedures. 
  • Work closely with management to assist in prioritizing, planning, and implementing activities and procedures related to RESEA service functions.
  • Work harmoniously to develop systems, procedures, initiatives, and programs that facilitate the achievement of the organization’s service objectives. 
  • Conduct outreach to UI claimants for in-person and/or virtual appointments; record attendance and/or supplement activities using the state’s prescribed case management system.
  • Provide follow-up to participants to ensure supplemental activities are completed.
  • Provide and/or refer RESEA participants to other appropriate OhioMeansJobs center services and supports, such as community and/or OhioMeansJobs center partner/program information.
  • Provide data entry, documentation, and recording of all required data/information in state and/or local data systems.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience, preferred. 
  • Experience identifying job readiness skill shortfalls and referring participants to additional services to gain necessary skills for employment. 
  • Experience with maintaining timely documentation and reporting requirements per federal, state, and local regulations and policies. 
  • Ability to coordinate/refer to workforce system partners and resources to assist with job readiness/job search skills and training opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and team building skills and the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of customer and staff information. 
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization and its customers. 
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, assign work, effectively manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills are needed in Microsoft applications as well as the ability to navigate electronic software systems and web applications.
