Responsibilities

The Product Development Technician IV applies a thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of engineering as related to the variety of aspects within the stormwater treatment area. The Technician IV applies knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions. This individual works on Treatment category projects with a high level of complexity and scope.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Serves as the technical specialist for the organization in the application of equipment, prototyping, or testing methods in the Treatment and Hydraulics area
  • Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, equipment, or test procedures
  • Keeps informed of new testing / equipment developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications
  • Interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates testing programs
  • Receives supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits
  • General Lab upkeep
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Minimal travel required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Possesses exemplary oral and technical writing skills
  • Interacts with internal and external customers supporting sales
  • Plans and coordinates complex test procedures for the Treatment Category
  • Mentors other technicians as needed

Project focus areas:

  • Treatment Technology Areas including Hydrodynamic Separators, Biofiltration and Fabric Filtration
  • Metal and Plastic Prototyping
  • Programming (micro-controllers, PLC’s and processors)
  • Proficiency in CAD, structural design, and FEA (finite element analysis) is a plus
  • Data processing / signal manipulations and deductions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is a minimum
  • 7+ years of similar experience
