Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Warehouse Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately keeping an electronic inventory of parts and supplies in the electric, water and communication departments. Manages the shipment of and receipt of products, materials, and supplies. Performs general maintenance of buildings, fuel system, inventory system, light fixture inventory, transformer inventory, maintain trash and recycle bids & dumpsters, order pickup of utility dumpsters, maintain grounds & equipment.
Duties
- Maintain fuel data usage base for fuel leak testing; inspect fuel tanks daily; drain overflow tank near the fuel tanks as needed.
- Works closely with and communicates professionally and openly with coworkers, management and customers providing friendly and efficient external and internal customer service; responds to requests for information and assistance and meets commitments.
- Directs PCB program as needed and as it relates to the warehouse; prepare necessary paper and send out bad transformers for rebuild or junk; maintain transformer and light fixture records; move material within buildings (meter base and hubs, etc.); assist in monitoring traffic in and out of Edgerton Street complex; fill up bulk water trucks and trailers as needed; maintain service on forklift, gator and gator attachments, zero turn & push mowers, John Deere small tractor and attachments and truck 38; delivers materials and equipment to crews at various work locations when necessary
- Complete small building maintenance at Edgerton Street complex: change various filters (ice machine, air vents, etc.) and light bulbs; Maintains electric and water warehouses, including sweeping, scrubbing floors; use hand shove for shoveling sidewalks, drives and entrances; Inspect buildings and grounds on Edgerton Street campus and perform necessary minor repair as needed (plumbing, painting, replacing broken windows, etc.) and report items unable to repair to the appropriate Superintendent.
- Complete grounds maintenance at Edgerton Street complex and East Perry Street pole bunker yard and Lot off of East Trevitt Street: mow; spray for weeds; maintain drives: filling in holes, snow removal and salting (including sidewalks and entrances), sweeping concrete; maintains large trash hopper; collects and maintains recycling: boxes, lightbulbs, etc.; trash pick up along fences and in yards; miscellaneous painting (yellow posts, doors, etc.); Maintain gates on corridor: opening gates, spraying weeds around gates, etc.
Experience
- Position requires a high school diploma and minimum of four (4) years of experience in facilities and warehouse positions; or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Inventory control
- PCB program and disposal of other products
- proper lifting techniques; grounds maintenance and repair; proper safety practices applicable to the electric, communications and water industry; local geographical area.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.33 - $26.76 per hour
