Schedule: Full Time, Days, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, 8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday, Possible
Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies the BMET - Senior has the responsibility of minimizing all risks and supports both patient related and non-patient related equipment by installing, inspection, safety testing, calibrating, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing biomedical equipment with mastery of skills and tasks. Performs highly skilled work on the full scope of medical equipment available within a fully outfitted medical facility to include the following job duties to train users and maintain safe operations. Participates in the evaluation and selection of new equipment, accessories, and supplies. Capable of educating others, including clinical staff, related to the technical integration of the device/system. Fully experienced with an exceptional skill set and knowledge, works with minimal supervision; capable of providing technical guidance, serving as a trainer and mentor to the BMET position. Capable of performing in a lead capacity. Considered a “Subject Matter Expert” on high-acuity clinical devices and systems in specialized acute care or imaging areas.
Education: Requires Associates Degree in Biomedical, Computer, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Manufacturer training, Military training or equivalent is required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Certification in Bio-Medical Equipment Technology (CBET) or Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) is required and a valid driver’s license required.
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of related experience required.
Skills: Strong technical skills and knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment. Ability to repair and maintain a wide variety of medical equipment. Maintaining an up to date knowledge of all regulatory agencies (Joint Commission, ODH, CMS, NFPA, etc.). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to lead the department in the absence of Manager.
