Job Summary
The Western Neighborhood Outreach Director is a dynamic and passionate leader dedicated to strengthening community ties, promoting public health, and fostering positive change within the Western neighborhood. This role involves developing and implementing outreach programs, managing volunteers and staff, and building strategic partnerships to address community needs. The Outreach Director will serve as a visible advocate, utilizing public speaking, social media management, and program development skills to engage residents, local organizations, and stakeholders. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while leading innovative initiatives that promote wellness, social equity, and community resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive outreach strategies tailored to the Western neighborhood’s unique needs, focusing on public health, addiction prevention, and provision of services to children.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate volunteers and interns to ensure effective program delivery and community engagement.
  • Plan and lead community events, workshops, and public speaking engagements to raise awareness about available resources and foster neighborhood participation.
  • Manage social media platforms and marketing campaigns to promote programs, share success stories, and increase community visibility.
  • Collaborate with local organizations, schools, healthcare providers, and government agencies to build partnerships that enhance service delivery.
  • Collect data on program outcomes, community feedback, and outreach effectiveness to inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Oversee administrative functions including budgeting, reporting, record-keeping, and compliance with organizational policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related human services field.
  • Clean criminal background check and valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Strong public speaking skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences confidently.
  • Experience in fundraising efforts and grant writing to support program sustainability.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in data collection and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to establish trust, rapport, and ethical boundaries with diverse populations.
  • Excellent writing and documentation skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and follow written/verbal instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and meet
  • deadlines.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and capable of handling high-stress situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
