Your Opportunity as theSenior Lab Technician

The focus for this role is to support the plants and R&D by performing microbiological testing and reporting results.

Location:Orrville, OH

Work Arrangements:Hybrid, Monday - Friday

In this role you will:

* Perform routine microbiological testing & report results

* Maintain International Organization for Standardization (ISO)/International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 17025 accredited methods

* Follow good laboratory and safety practices

* Prepare laboratory reagents

* Maintain laboratory supplies, equipment records, and methods

* Maintain and calibrate lab equipment

* Perform general laboratory upkeep, inventory management, and ordering supplies

* Support laboratory projects

* Communicate with customers to coordinate testing related to microbiological testing procedures

* Provide support to the Analytical Lab as needed

What we are looking for:

MinimumRequirements:

* Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Microbiology / Food Science or related field

Additionalskills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

* General laboratory experience is strongly preferred

* Microbiological Laboratory experience or training is strongly preferred

* Familiarity with aseptic technique is strongly preferred

* Biosafety Level 2 laboratory experience is preferred

* Strong communication skills (written and oral)and customer service communication skills

* Strong chemistry and mathematics background, statistical background a plus

* Good computer skills, including familiarity with a Laboratory Management System (LMS)

* Strong time management skills with attention to detail

* Highly adaptable and flexible to a dynamic environment

* Self-motivated, high-energy level, positive attitude

* Ability to work a minimum of one company assigned holiday per year (could be 1-3 days during that holiday week for 1-2 hours each day and/or if a Holiday falls on a Sunday if there is a rotation)

* Possible weekend work hours in a rotation

* Ability to stand for extended periods of time and occasionally to lift up to 40 lbs. is required

* Ability to work independently
