Fleet Accounting Specialist

About the Job

Key Responsibilities:


* Manage daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including vendor invoices, customer billing, insurance documentation, reporting, and collections
* Process weekly driver payroll and owner-operator settlements accurately and on time
* Perform month-end reconciliations, including A/R, credit cards, payables, and fuel cards
* Assist with IFTA reporting and support tax preparation activities
* Manage receivables, cash application, and support overall cash flow management
* Prepare financial reports and support special projects as needed

Qualifications


* Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience; trucking or logistics industry experience strongly preferred
* Proficiency with accounting software (Concentric and Spend Clarity a plus)
* Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Docs
* Solid understanding of trucking-specific financials, including general ledger accounts, IFTA, fuel cards, and factoring
* Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on checks and balances and audit trails
* Ability to clearly communicate financial information and create reports based on business needs
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to re-prioritize daily based on deadlines and special projects

Physical Demands:


* This position is primarily office-based.
* Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer
* Frequent use of hands for data entry and document handling
* Occasional standing, walking, bending, or light lifting (up to 15 pounds)
* Visual acuity to review financial documents and computer screens
