Description
The Lead Blender organizes and directs blending operations on the assigned shift. This role ensures accurate formulation and mixing of all blended products within established quality and safety guidelines. The Blender Lead assists blending staff, coordinates workflow, and maintains compliance with GMPs and company standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead blending team members to meet production schedules.
- Accurately pick, measure, and blend formulas using SOPs and GMPs.
- Operate blenders, mixers, cookers, and ancillary equipment within process guidelines.
- Ensure proper lot coding and prepare samples for lab testing.
- Monitor product quality and report any deviations or food safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate production records and paperwork.
- Coordinate with packaging and other departments for timely product flow.
- Enforce sanitation and safety standards in the blending area.
Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Prior blending experience required, leadership experience preferred
- Forklift experience or certification (training available)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Flexible schedule; may require overtime
