As a result of our extended growth, we are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Crestline, Ohio team! This position is responsible for planning, directing and managing the plant's maintenance function, including the appropriate scheduling, supervision of maintenance labor and recordkeeping responsibilities. This member of the maintenance team must provide leadership, guidance, direction and recommendations on facility maintenance activities including repairs, preventative maintenance and parts inventory management to ensure effective and efficient maintenance service. This requires strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to best prioritize day-to-day maintenance activities between long-term goals and short-term needs and emergency situations. Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Directing and coordinating the repair and service activities of the maintenance mechanics and laborers to effectively reduce downtime and maintain facilities and equipment
Evaluating the effectiveness of maintenance programs and recommending improvements to ensure safe, efficient and economical
Utilizing problem solving-skills to manage breakdowns and emergency repairs and develop/implement preventative maintenance, projects and weekend work to best avoid work week shut-down of equipment, thereby maximizing efficiency/productivity
Maintaining sufficient level of material/parts inventory and order parts for repairs and preventative maintenance activities to manage maintenance expenses in the most cost-effective
Coaching and developing maintenance staff through OJT and technical training and experiences to assure a qualified staff to handle most equipment and facilities issues
Supervising a team of mechanical process technicians and general maintenance staff
Maintaining safe facilities and equipment and actively participating in the plant safety program by enforcing safety policies and proper housekeeping/SS responsibilities
Recommending and managing maintenance-related projects for safer administrative controls in plant security and ergonomic activities to support plant and corporate safety goals
Identification and elimination of problems as they occur using the corporate values of Lean, Six Sigma, Fairness, Customer Concern and Rapid Response to meet expected standards of quality.
Develop product and plant production process improvements as well as plant maintenance through the design, evaluation and implementation of engineering projects in order to improve plant productivity and maintain the physical plant.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma required; technical degree preferred
3+ years of supervisory experience in general or industrial maintenance
Thorough understanding of production equipment and processes, as well as facilities maintenance
Solid, demonstrated leadership in fast-paced and dynamic work environments
Understanding of glass fabrication technology is preferred
Experience with Preventative Maintenance (PM) software is beneficial
Must be open to night shifts
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic/pneumatics and mechanical systems
Previous experience with Automated Control systems (Allen Bradley PLC, Fanuc Robot etc.) would be preferred.
Proven skills and track record in Preventive/Predictive Maintenance and effectiveness programs that reduce machine down time/increase up time
Effective interpersonal skills as well as both written and verbal communication skills
Team-building skills are essential to provide day-to-day operational leadership in the development/execution utilizing maintenance and manufacturing resources
Must have strong technical skills and ability to negotiate and analyze equipment issues
Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics.
Lead and support projects using Lean principles and tools.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment, excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
