POSITION: Special Education Coordinator
LOCATION: Sentinel Career and Technology Center, Tiffin
MINIMUM Bachelor’s degree and possess a valid Ohio Intervention Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS: educator’s license. Highly qualified in all academic content areas. Prior
teaching experience in the field of special education/intervention at the
high school level, prior experience writing IEP’s, excellent communication,
organizational, and instructional skills are desired traits. A valid Ohio
driver’s license and positive background checks (BCI/FBI) are mandatory.
GENERAL The Special Education Coordinator shall work alongside the Director of Student
DESCRIPTION: Services and demonstrate the ability to individualize academic intervention and
track effectiveness of intervention activities. The coordinator shall assist staff with
implementing differentiation strategies and instructional practices to support
students in their own achievement of personal, educational, and career goals. The
coordinator shall demonstrate the ability to work independently and have a solid
foundational knowledge of special education law and requirements. The
coordinator shall have a working knowledge of online learning platforms and
possess strong organizational skills to track and monitor student progress. The
coordinator shall possess effective communication skills with students, parents,
staff and school districts. The candidate shall implement the Superintendent’s
directives, district goals, and policies of the Board of Education.
WORK WEEK/YEAR: 185 days
SALARY: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
BENEFITS: Accumulated sick leave, group medical and dental insurance, and State
Teachers Retirement System (STRS) pension.
