Job Summary

Vertiv is seeking Lead Engineering Technician to support New Product Development (NPD) team that is responsible for modular integrated data center row and rack-based solutions. You will build prototypes, fabricate and/or assemble wire harnesses, perform design & drawing reviews, assist with Change Orders (COs), and provide manufacturability feedback in partnership with Design Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME). The role also owns internal orders, prototype part intake/check-in, and build readiness to keep NPDI prototype schedules on track.

RESPONSIBILITIES


* Execute hands-on assembly of mechanical/electrical prototypes; follow build files, test plans, and safety procedures.
* Coordinate build readiness: receive, verify (drawing/revision), kit, and stage prototype parts prior to build start.
* Build and rework wire/cable harnesses; verify continuity and polarity; document as-built updates.
* Participate in CAD/drawing reviews; redline prints and bills of material (BOM); provide design for manufacturability input.
* Support engineers with CO preparation tasks in PD Cloud; assist with CCO effectivity follow-through.
* Create and track internal/transfer orders; coordinate receiving and reconcile shortages.
* Receive and check-in supplier prototype parts; verify against drawings/revisions and PO; update trackers.
* Maintain accurate as-built updates, part/assembly redlines, and lessons learned; contribute to NPDI deliverables.
* Other lab duties include coordinating shipping and receiving activities, equipment maintenance, and PPE compliance monitoring.
QUALIFICATIONS


* Associate's degree in engineering/technology or equivalent hands-on experience.
* Read/interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings; basic electronics troubleshooting.
* Proficiency with hand/power tools equipment
* Proficiency in MS Office/Teams
* Preferred: Wire harness build experience; familiarity with PLM (PD Cloud) and ERP (ALICE EBS).
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS


* Frequent standing, walking, and hands-on lab/assembly work
* Ability to lift and position subassemblies/fixtures
* Use of PPE and adherence to site safety rules.
TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED


* Up to 10% (local plant/supplier visits).
