What You’ll Do

  • Support adults with developmental disabilities in daily activities that promote choice, self‑advocacy, and independence.
  • Lead or assist with life skills (cooking basics, personal organization, money skills, etc.) and appropriate social interaction practice.
  • Facilitate and participate in community outings—recreation, volunteer opportunities, shopping, and local events.
  • Encourage and model relationship‑building and positive peer engagement.
  • Provide safe transportation to/from the day program and community activities using agency vehicles (training provided).
  • Document participation, progress notes, and any health/safety concerns according to agency guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, families/guardians, and supervisors.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong verbal communication and the ability to follow written instructions and care plans.
  • Comfort working in the community and adapting to changing plans.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 points (must meet agency driver eligibility).
  • Ability to pass: background check; DOT physical examination; pre‑employment & random drug testing.
  • Able to safely operate agency vehicles (training provided) and assist with transfers/mobility as needed (reasonable accommodations considered).

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health, education, or caregiving.
