Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely shipment and receipt of finished goods. This role supports warehouse and dock operations by verifying product accuracy, preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining inventory records. The position requires attention to detail, safe operation of material‑handling equipment, and adherence to established shipping and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify pallet labels to ensure they accurately reflect finished goods
- Prepare Bills of Lading and shipping documentation for outbound shipments
- Use warehouse management and shipping systems to track inventory and shipments
- Operate forklifts and reach trucks for material handling
- Inspect pallets for accuracy, cleanliness, and damage prior to shipment
- Communicate with outside carriers to coordinate pickups
- Report shipment issues or discrepancies to internal staff
- Maintain accurate shipping logs, records, and documentation
- Locate inventory as needed, including off‑site warehouse locations
- Assist with receiving operations and general material handling
- Support baling and recycling operations (metal, wood, paper)
- Perform physical inventory counts as required
- Maintain housekeeping standards in dock, storage, yard, and baling areas
- Follow all safety procedures for dock locks, forklifts, and loading/unloading
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Forklift certification
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Basic computer skills preferred but not required
- One or more years of warehouse or shipping/receiving experience preferred, but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods as a primary job function
- Ability to walk distances of up to 100 yards repeatedly
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Ability to safely operate material‑handling equipment
- Compliance with all safety guidelines and use of required protective equipment
Work Environment
- Warehouse, dock, and yard environments
- Moderate to noisy conditions may be present

Compensation
- Starting pay: $20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
