Provide technical direction to other support members, advise and support communication of the deliverables and the plan to achieve them. Advise team activities on feasibility, development, testing, and release. Build the capabilities of the team through coaching and mentoring. Provide technical guidance and oversight on requirement achievement, test results, and future enhancements. Responsible for ensuring quality tool development and output. Collaborate with Dept Lead to develop, plan, and implement strategic direction for the team including defining department budget/staffing needs, selection, and assessment criteria, actively participating in the hiring process, and creating/maintaining operational policies/procedures. Compile and/or create documentation to support project development. Review documents prepared by developers for completeness and quality. Lead promotion activities across ADC to ensure a constant stream of ideas and engagement with customers. Promote the existence and capabilities of the group across the organization. Keep a constant dialog and stream of communication open. Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and counterparts, building professional credibility and trust. Manage cross-company issues with IT. Provide reports on progress and status as required. Initiate and lead the design and development of simple to complex automation. Conceive and lead the development and maintenance of automation specifications and standards. Provide direct technical guidance and final oversight to developers. Provide guiding feedback and judgment on the feasibility, development investment time, quality, and performance of prospective tools. Correlate with cross-divisional or cross-company counterparts like IT when necessary to advance the group objectives. Maintain development process efficiency and methodology. Strive to improve upon the process and increase the efficiency of the development workload and time. Act as subject matter expert in automation. Maintain an in-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies, and company best practices. Lead continuous improvement projects and provide related technical or group management (i.e. in specification development, process improvement, project management, associate development, communications). Investigate innovative technologies and third-party tools for increasing tool output capacity, quality, and capability.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or Engineering (any field); 5 years of relevant professional experience; 5 years of experience programming/coding in VB,VB.Net, C#, and C++ languages; 5 years of experience with Catia Specific Programming/Coding in CAA, EKL, and BKT languages; 5 years of experience developing tools and applications in Catia V5; 5 years of experience developing tools and applications in Catia 3DX; and 5 years of experience developing tools and application in Enovia PLM Tools.
