Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: Facilities / Maintenance
Employment Status: Full-Time, Unclassified
The Brown County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for a full-time, unclassified Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of County-owned buildings and facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical work
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance of County facilities
- Perform parking lot, grounds and exterior area clean-up, including litter removal and general upkeep
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies as assigned
- Coordinate and work with skilled trades and contractors as needed for specialized repairs or projects
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment, in a safe manner
- Comply with all applicable safety regulations and County policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with commercial buildings and facilities maintenance
- Knowledge of general maintenance practices and procedures
- Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid Ohio driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage range: $28.00 to $32.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
