We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team at Wauseon Elementary School as an Elementary Intervention Specialist. This full-time position is designed for an individual who is committed to fostering a positive learning environment and providing targeted support to students who require additional assistance in their academic journey. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and support staff to identify student needs and implement effective intervention strategies that promote academic success and personal growth.

Responsibilities
- Assess and identify students who are struggling academically or behaviorally and develop individualized intervention plans.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in small group or one-on-one settings, focusing on areas such as reading, math, and social-emotional skills.
- Monitor student progress through regular assessments and adjust intervention strategies as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
- Facilitate communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, intervention strategies, and ways to support learning at home.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in intervention strategies and special education.
- Work collaboratively with school staff, including special education teachers, counselors, and administrators, to create a supportive learning environment for all students.
- Maintain accurate records of student assessments, interventions, and progress to inform instructional decisions and report to stakeholders.
- Engage in ongoing reflection and professional growth to enhance personal effectiveness as an intervention specialist.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching license or certification in the state of Ohio, with endorsement in special education or intervention preferred.
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students in an educational setting, particularly in intervention or special education.
- Strong understanding of instructional strategies, assessment methods, and intervention techniques for diverse learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and success.
- Proficient in using technology and educational software to support instruction and track student progress.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
