Job Description

Position Title: Shipper


Position Summary

The Shipper is responsible for coordinating daily shipments and receiving activities to ensure production schedules are met. This role ensures accurate documentation, proper inventory control, compliance with company policies, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and prepare daily production shipments to meet schedule requirements.

  • Complete accurate Bills of Lading for all outgoing shipments.

  • Verify all incoming materials and supplies.

  • Unload and receive shipments safely and efficiently.

  • Segregate materials as directed.

  • Ensure proper stock rotation of raw materials and finished goods.

  • Maintain adequate raw material levels to support production.

  • Conduct weekly and/or monthly inventories as directed.

  • Perform lifting as required.

  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area.

  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.


Authority

  • Inform supervision of supplier discrepancies.

  • Halt shipment of production and notify supervision if quality concerns arise.

  • Report safety hazards immediately.

  • Act on behalf of the Plant Manager regarding GP12 labeling compliance.


Environmental & Safety Responsibilities

  • Follow environmental policies and procedures in compliance with ISO 14001 standards.

  • Report spills and ensure proper cleanup and disposal procedures are followed.

  • Participate in spill management training and emergency response procedures.

  • Follow recycling practices and environmental management procedures.

  • Understand the environmental impact of job duties and maintain compliance with all operating procedures.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to lift materials as required.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
