Job Title: Janitor
Location: Cleveland, OH
Shift: 1st and 2nd shifts available (shift differential for 2nd shift)
Position Summary
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment within an industrial facility. This role supports workplace safety, sanitation standards, and efficient daily operations across warehouse, production, and common areas. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail‑oriented, and capable of performing physical tasks in a fast‑paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse, production, and common areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal
- Operate industrial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers
- Empty and sanitize trash bins, recycling containers, and designated waste areas according to environmental guidelines
- Clean and restock restrooms, breakrooms, and locker areas daily
- Safely store cleaning chemicals and supplies and assist with inventory management
- Support waste segregation and recycling efforts
- Respond promptly to spills and assist with cleanup to prevent safety hazards
- Report maintenance or safety concerns (e.g., leaks, damaged flooring, malfunctioning equipment) to supervision
- Follow all workplace safety policies and OSHA standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Work collaboratively with warehouse and facilities teams to maintain cleanliness around docks, storage areas, and work zones
- Participate in facility audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior janitorial, custodial, or warehouse experience required
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment
- Ability to work in warehouse and production environments with varying temperatures and noise levels
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay: $18.25 per hour (final rate based on experience and qualifications)
