Job Description:

AZZ has an exciting First Shift opportunity for a Shipping and Receiving / Quality Control Clerk at our Canton East facility. Reporting to the Operations Manager and Shipping/Receiving Supervisor but also working closely with the Quality Control Coordinator, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the receipt and/or shipment of materials, supplies and products, as well as doing quality control readings on material before it ships out. You will be working in both an office environment and out in the yard checking in truckloads of steel. Must be able to work outside approximately 50% of the time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for meeting customer delivery schedules, communicating turnaround time to customers, loading and unloading customer material.
• Receives goods, verifies items against the record of shipment and inspects condition.
• Gathers, verifies and packs items for shipment according to specifications and the transportation method used.
• Records received and shipped items according to established procedures.
• Uses scale to weigh in or out materials.
• Prepares bill of lading.
• Obtains signed copies of bill of lading or any other documents required.
• Quality control readings on all ready to ship material.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of related experience preferred in shipping environment
• Knowledge of raw materials, production process, quality control and costs, knowledge of hand tools and equipment is preferred.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Details: Full time. First Shift (6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.). 40 hours/week. Monday through Friday. $17.00 to $19.00/hour (based on experience).

Qualifications: High school diploma / GED preferred. 1-2 years of related experience preferred in shipping environment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Driver’s License Requirement(s): Must have a valid driver’s license.
