Cutting Operator Assistant
Position Summary
The Cutting Operator Assistant supports production operations by preparing product loads for cutting presses, maintaining cleanliness within the cutting department, and assisting with food safety and quality compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and air loads for cutting presses
- Empty conveyor lines from automated systems
- Remove scrap sheets from presses, band waste materials, and transport them to designated waste areas
- Move laminated sheet loads to the work‑in‑process (WIP) area
- Maintain daily time and material usage records using inventory and reporting systems
- Perform preventative maintenance as required
- Assist temporary employees with understanding task assignments while reinforcing safety, quality, and compliance standards
- Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervision or management
- Act in a professional and ethical manner that supports organizational values, workplace relationships, and operational integrity
Qualifications & Skills
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Visual color discrimination ability (ability to match and detect differences between color shades)
- Familiarity with food safety and quality compliance standards
- Familiarity with food defense compliance requirements
- Forklift certification strongly preferred
NOTES: 12 hour shifts, 7-7 first and third.
