Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity fora CategoryBuyer-Refractory at our Headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. The Category Buyer forRefractorywill be the company's subject matter expertregardingrefractory materials and services.The positionis responsible formanaging the end-to-end procurementprocess,including strategy creation and implementation, supplier identification and qualification, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.

Summary ofResponsibilities:

Drive cost reductionforrefractoryand associated servicesthrough favorable pricing, service, and improvedproduct life.

Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations toresolve issues andconduct plant trials.

Stayup to date withtechnologies, market trends, and cost drivers.

Conductmeetings with plantpersoneland suppliers to resolveany supply, service, or support issues,and help coordinate technical discussions.

Track and analyze supplier performance, pricing, and quality.

Review requisitions anddetermineoptimalpurchasing strategies.

Initiatepurchasingactions, manage blanket orders, andmaintainpurchasing records.

Ensure billing accuracy and resolve emergency procurement needs.

Negotiate, implement, and manage supplieragreements.

Follow departmental procedures and support workflow improvements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, or a related field;Equivalent professional background will alsobe considered.

At least five years of experience inrefractoryprocurement, refractory sales,ormelt shopmaintenance,operations,or reliability engineering.

Technical understanding ofrefractory.

Demonstrated analytical aptitude,strong communicationand negotiation skills (verbal and written), andattention to detail.

Self-motivated, highly organized,and able tohandlemultiple projects at the same time.

Proficiencywith Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Occasional domestic travel(10-20%).

Preferred Qualifications:

Steelmillorheavyindustrialmanufacturing experience.

Mid-to-highlevelpurchasing andprocurement experience.

Demonstratedproficiencyusing Oracle,Ellipseand/orTabwarePurchasing/Sourcing systems.

Relocationassistancemay be considered for highly qualified candidates from outside the local area.

The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based onnumerousfactors including, but not limited to, relevanteducation, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location and business or organizational needs.
