Job Summary

The Research Engineer - Model & Simulation will lead advanced modeling and simulation initiatives for Vertiv's next-generation critical infrastructure technologies. Develop complex simulation frameworks across power, thermal, and systems domains to validate research concepts and predict performance of new technologies. Drive innovation through computational modeling and digital twin development.

This role reports to the Advanced Research and Technology Leader and is based in Delaware, OH.

Responsibilities:


* Lead development of advanced simulation models for research initiatives
* Create and validate digital twins for complex infrastructure systems
* Develop multi-physics models for power and thermal systems
* Design simulation frameworks for new technology concepts
* Lead computational analysis of research proposals
* Create predictive models for system performance
* Collaborate with Research Domain Leads on simulation requirements
* Integrate AI/ML techniques into simulation frameworks
* Develop visualization tools for complex system behavior
* Guide validation of simulation results against experimental data

Requirements:


* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
* 3+ years of experience in modeling and simulation using tools such as COMSOL, ANSYS, MATLAB, or equivalent.
* Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, or electrical systems.
* Experience with scripting and automation of simulation workflows.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
* Travel: 10% travel for research collaboration, conferences, and customer meetings
* Physical and Environmental Demands:

* Office environment with advanced computing resources
* May require work in laboratory environments
* Extended periods working with computer systems
