Job Summary:

The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of industrial electrical and control systems throughout the facility. This role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical components, instrumentation, and building systems in accordance with electrical codes, schematics, and technical documentation. The E&I Technician supports routine and preventive maintenance activities, performs biweekly and metered PMs as needed, and uses diagnostic tools and test equipment to maintain optimal equipment performance. Advancement within the role is determined by meeting and sustaining the requirements of the Cert Card Program.

Essential Functions

* Adhere to all safety procedures, policies, and electrical standards.
* Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems for industrial machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
* Read and interpret electrical codes, manuals, schematics, diagrams, and technical specifications.
* Use hand tools, power tools, computers, and electrical test equipment to diagnose and resolve issues.
* Perform routine, biweekly, and metered preventive maintenance (PM) tasks.
* Support equipment reliability improvements through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Document repair activities, inspections, and maintenance work accurately and in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve equipment and process issues.
* Participate in the Cert Card Program and maintain required skill levels for continued progression.
* Assist with startup, shutdown, and new equipment installation projects as needed.
* Follow all company policies regarding safety, quality, and housekeeping.

Physical Requirements

* Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
* Manual dexterity for handling tools, components, wiring, and instrumentation.
* Ability to lift, carry, or move equipment and materials up to 50 lbs.
* Visual acuity for reading schematics, wiring, screens, and instrumentation displays.
* Ability to work in environments with noise, heat, moving equipment, and electrical hazards.
* Capability to perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, reaching, and sustained physical activity.
* Ability to wear required PPE, including arc-flash gear, gloves, and safety glasses.
