Over‑the‑Road (OTR) CDL Class A Driver
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Over‑the‑Road (OTR) Class A CDL Driver to operate a sleeper truck on regional routes throughout the Midwest and Eastern United States. This position is ideal for a driver who is comfortable spending multiple days on the road, values consistent work, and prefers hourly pay rather than mileage‑based compensation.However if you are interested in being paid based off of mileage employer is open to discuss.
The driver will have steady freight, modern equipment, and predictable reset schedules, with most routes running Monday through Saturday.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Class A tractor‑trailer in a safe, professional, and DOT‑compliant manner
- Transport freight on regional OTR routes across multiple states
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain accurate logs and required documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations staff
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight
- Adhere to all safety policies, federal regulations, and company procedures
- Handle varying weather and road conditions safely and responsibly
Routes & Schedule
- Primary schedule: Monday through Saturday
- Time on the road:
- Typically Monday–Saturday with a 32–34 hour reset at home
- Occasional extended runs of up to 14 days (rare)
- Service areas may include:
- Midwest and Eastern U.S. (e.g., OH, IN, WI, NY, NJ, MA, MD, TN, Carolinas)
- Consistent freight with no shortage of available routes
Equipment
- Sleeper tractor (newer‑model, well‑maintained)
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred
- Ability and willingness to drive over the road and stay out multiple days
- Clean or manageable driving record
- Ability to meet DOT physical requirements
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and professionalism
Background Considerations
- Candidates with prior convictions may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis
- No violent or sexual felony convictions
- Other offenses may be reviewed depending on nature, severity, and time elapsed
Physical & Job Demands
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Ability to climb into and out of a tractor‑trailer
- Ability to handle long driving days and varying weather conditions
