Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

GI Physicians, Inc. is a gastroenterology practice serving Lima and the surrounding communities. We provide comprehensive digestive health care and are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to support our outpatient clinic and inpatient GI services.
Position Summary
This role is primarily outpatient clinic-based with assigned inpatient rounding at Lima Memorial Hospital and Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities
Outpatient Clinic (Primary)
- Evaluate and manage new and established GI patients
- Diagnose and treat common GI conditions (e.g., GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, hepatitis, constipation/diarrhea, abdominal pain, anemia workups, post-procedure follow-up)
- Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies; create treatment plans
- Provide patient education and coordinate care with referring providers
- Prescribe medications within scope and according to state/federal guidelines
- Complete timely, accurate documentation.
Inpatient Rounding
- Round on GI consult/service patients at:
- Lima Memorial Hospital
- Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center
- Perform GI consults (H&P, assessment/plan)
- Write progress notes and communicate care plans with supervising gastroenterologists
- Coordinate and set up GI procedures as appropriate, including pre-procedure orders/workup per protocol and scheduling coordination
- Collaborate with hospitalists, nursing, and case management teams
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (MSN or DNP)
- Current Ohio APRN license (or ability to obtain)
- National certification (AANP or ANCC)
- BLS required (ACLS preferred per hospital requirements)
- DEA license (or ability to obtain)
- GI experience preferred but not required (strong internal medicine, family medicine, or hospital rounding experience welcomed)
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and patient-centered approach
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Hospital rounding schedule as assigned (details discussed during interview)
