Position Overview
Healthcare Industry | Cleveland, Ohio
This Environmental Services Team Lead position supports a leading healthcare organization in Cleveland by helping oversee daily Environmental Services operations and supporting frontline staff. The Team Lead plays a key role in maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary environments while providing guidance, training, and work direction to Environmental Services team members.
This is a working leadership role, combining hands‑on cleaning responsibilities with team coordination, training support, and quality oversight. The Team Lead is essential to maintaining infection prevention standards, patient safety, and service excellence.
This role may serve as a career advancement opportunity for experienced Environmental Services staff seeking leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
Work Schedule
- Days: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Rotating weekends and holidays required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff in:
- Floor care
- Wall washing
- Carpet cleaning
- Special cleaning procedures
- Perform daily cleaning duties as needed, including:
- Cleaning patient rooms and assigned areas
- Collecting and removing trash
- Changing bed linens
- Sanitizing surfaces
- Ensure compliance with:
- Patient isolation procedures
- Infection control standards
- Environmental Services technical policies
- Stock paper items and supplies in patient rooms and assigned areas
- Maintain carts and equipment in clean, safe, working condition
- Store equipment properly at the end of each shift
- Support daily workflow coordination and task prioritization
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and coordinate multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of Environmental Services experience
- Leadership experience or experience providing work direction
- Strong customer service and communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a stationary position for extended periods
- Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time
- Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
- Ability to move or transport items and equipment up to 25 pounds
- Ability to inspect and operate cleaning equipment
- Ability to use cleaning products and equipment safely
- May come into contact with communicable diseases and/or body fluids
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Follow standard precautions and use required PPE at all times
Compensation
- Hourly Pay Range: $18.55 – $24.81
- Pay is based on experience, skills, and qualifications
- Shift differentials and overtime may apply
