About this role
Competitive Pay:This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $25.00/hr. to $35.00/hr., depending on experience and qualifications.
What You'll Do:
The Applications Engineer provides technical and operational support to the outside sales team for the application and sale of compressed air products.
Provide detailed parts lists, project kits, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to customers and sales teams.
Evaluate PMUs, vendor pricing, and GM% to support accurate and competitive quoting.
Review bid documents, including specifications, takeoffs, drawings, and scope documents.
Conduct compatibility evaluations for equipment, components, and systems.
Troubleshoot product- or systemrelated issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
Create and maintain submittals, O&M manuals, and quote templates.
Enter customer orders and perform purchasing and scheduling tasks using vendor portals.
Provide occasional recommendations related to equipment, systems, processes, or training to improve reliability and performance.
Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Mentor and support training of junior team members based on experience level.
Collaborate routinely with sales, customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical questions and support projects.
What You'll Need:
Associate degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field - OR equivalent technical/vendor experience in a product specialty (e.g., compressors, electrical, mechanical).
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, diagrams, and bid documents.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problemsolving skills.
Comfort evaluating pricing, margins, and technical compatibility.
Experience with ordering systems, vendor portals, or similar tools.
Strong communication skills with both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain accuracy across detailed technical work.
A continuous improvement mindset and desire to grow within product expertise.
