Act as project lead and allocate funds on the budget tracking system for assigned projects. Coordinate designated area in plant, assign equipment, collaborate with plant-side engineering and design teams to resolve project issues, conduct investigations, write advanced investigations and bid specifications, submit requisitions in the budget tracking system for project expenses, and work with vendors on design and installation. Design complex parts using AutoCAD/3D for production, check fixtures, and check jigs for production use. Create new layout using autocade for AWD prep relocation and extension project. Mentor co-ops and new engineers by organizing meetings to demonstrate the procedures for writing bid specifications and investigation reports. Assist new team members in becoming proficient with the 3D and 2D software tools required for the job, including AutoCAD, CATIA, and Inventor. Instruct plant-side engineers on front window Keyence vision system and work on new vision system for RSM bushing press check fixture. Position is subject to possible relocation to unanticipated worksites throughout the United States.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related engineering discipline, and one year of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Proficiency with mechanics of materials, including launch of dies and equipment used to make high quality automotive sheet metal body panels and parts for new model introduction.
- Proficiency with tooling and machining for die development, die tryout lead onsite, and countermeasure direction setting.
- Proficiency with 3-D design and implementation.
- Experience with PLC Programming.
- Experience with OSHA and ANSI.
- Experience with torque and tightening management and analytics.
- Experience with Power Apps or Power BI development.
- Up to 30% travel.
