Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic Trainee supports the maintenance team in ensuring all production equipment, tools, and facility systems operate safely and efficiently. This entry-level position is designed to develop hands-on skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems within a fast-paced truss and wall panel manufacturing environment.
This role is ideal for someone mechanically inclined who is eager to learn industrial maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
What You'll Do:
Assist senior maintenance technicians with troubleshooting and repairing production equipment
Perform preventative maintenance on saws, presses, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and automated equipment
Help diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
Learn to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals
Support welding and fabrication repairs as needed
Maintain tools, parts inventory, and maintenance records
Assist with facility maintenance including lighting, air compressors, and building systems
Follow all safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures
Participate in training programs to develop technical skills
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or GED required
Trade school coursework, technical certification, or mechanical experience preferred
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and hand tools
Willingness to learn electrical troubleshooting and industrial controls
Strong work ethic and dependability
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a manufacturing environment
Comfortable working at heights or in tight spaces when needed
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

This position is designed as a development role with a clear path toward becoming a Maintenance Technician. Successful trainees will gain hands-on experience, formal training, and advancement opportunities within the company.
Starting this position at $17.50/hr
Responsibilities
Perform regularly scheduled maintenance of all equipment/machinery.
Maintain equipment/machinery within tolerance of quality standards.
Train operators on correct operating and maintenance procedures.
Audit daily checks.
Maintain safe work/machine environment
Qualifications
Able to read and write in their primary language.
Able to stand for long periods of time.
Able to lift 50 pounds.
Basic math skills
