Responsibilities




The primary goal is satisfying customer requirements of quality, quantity, and delivery, in a safe manner, while maximizing productivity. Specifically, the Quality Control Technician is responsible for all job activities required to support production processes. These activities include but are not limited to: Maintaining quality standards by inspecting and approving product in the prefabrication and fabrication areas and recording quality results; Ensuring that the appropriate processes and proper equipment, tools, materials, tests, inspections, clean up, and quality standards are always employed.



Other responsibilities

Perform first piece and/or fixture inspection prior to and after welding to assure that the fabrication process is capable of meeting requirements and record results.
Perform periodic inspection after welding to assure that the fabrication process is consistent and record results.
Perform periodic inspection of prefabrication activities to assure that the prefabrication processes are being performed correctly and report results.
Perform periodic inspection of completed kits from prefabrication department that the kits are complete and report results.
Function as a liaison between the prefabrication and fabrication areas and engineering to resolve misunderstood, unclear or incorrect information on drawings and report results.
Operate the FARO arm to perform inspection on weldments, fixtures, jigs and completed product as required.
Maintain the DAC gage calibration system.
Completes all work in a manner consistent with the company's quality system and regulations
Keep work area clean and orderly at all times
Follows all plant safety guidelines, practices and procedures. Also, be aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe work area
Properly use personal protective equipment when required
Maintain regular attendance - have reliable means of transportation
Perform other tasks as assigned
Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching and twisting throughout shift
Capable of repetitively lifting 25-50 lbs.
Candidates must be flexible to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and/or holidays


Qualifications




Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, wiring schematics, blueprints and procedure manual
Familiarity with measuring equipment and calibration requirements.
Familiar with mechanical measurement methods including coordinate measuring machines.
Basic computer skills and SAP knowledge preferred
Forklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available)
Proven problem-solving abilities
Must be adaptable to change
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
Team player - must be able to work with others
Must have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goals
Attentive to detail watching for material defects and any quality issues
Must be able to prioritize activities with minimal supervision

Education and Experience

Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred including welding and or material processing. Any technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable.

High School Diploma or equivalent
A minimum of three (5) years of experience in manufacturing /quality
