Job Description

The Director of Warehouse & Distribution Operations is responsible for leading and optimizing multi-site warehouse and transportation operations across six U.S. distribution centers. This role oversees end-to-end inbound, outbound, inventory accuracy, and shipping performance while driving KPI visibility, operational standardization, and continuous improvement across the network.

This is a high-autonomy leadership role that requires a hands-on operator with strong analytical skills, the ability to manage managers, and comfort partnering directly with executive leadership in a data-driven environment.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Lead warehouse and distribution operations across six U.S. facilities, ensuring consistent execution, efficiency, and service performance
  • Directly manage and develop Warehouse Managers, setting clear performance expectations and accountability across the network
  • Own inbound and outbound operations, including container receiving, put-away, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping
  • Oversee transportation logistics and freight execution in partnership with Supply Chain
  • Establish and manage warehouse KPIs, dashboards, and reporting for executive visibility
  • Drive network-wide process standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead operational planning and execution tied to network optimization, including redistribution of product into a new (largest) Georgia facility
  • Improve labor efficiency, throughput, space utilization, and overall warehouse productivity
  • Ensure equipment readiness and facility functionality through maintenance planning and capital improvement coordination
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, IT, Finance, Sales, Quality, and Customer Support to support business needs
  • Promote safe work practices and compliance with company and regulatory standards

 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proven ability to lead multi-site warehouse and distribution operations
  • Strong people leadership skills, including experience managing managers
  • Advanced KPI and operational reporting capability, with strong financial and analytical mindset
  • Deep understanding of warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and distribution best practices
  • Experience overseeing transportation/logistics execution and freight flow
  • Ability to standardize processes across multiple locations and drive consistent performance
  • Strong cross-functional communication and executive-level reporting skills
  • Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems (NetSuite strongly preferred) and Microsoft Office
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to lead change in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel 25–50% to distribution centers as needed

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive warehouse/distribution operations experience required
  • 5+ years of multi-site leadership experience required
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) or durable consumer products distribution strongly preferred

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment and move throughout facilities regularly
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during facility visits
  • Ability to operate in environments with warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly manages six Warehouse Managers
  • Oversees approximately 80 warehouse employees across six distribution centers
  • Responsible for performance management, coaching, development, and accountability of leadership teams
  • Partners with HR and Operations leadership on hiring, training, and workforce planning
