Title: Registered Nurse (RN – General, Dialysis, Mental Health) – Region 6
Location: Highland Hills, OH 44128
Shift: 2nd Shift – 1:30 PM to 11:30 PM
Schedule: Four 10-hour rotating shifts (must be available any day of the week including weekends) Hours per Week: 40
Duration: Minimum 3 months from projected start date
Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide professional nursing care to patients in a state-operated correctional facility. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, emergency response, and collaboration with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure quality patient care.
Role & Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care and monitor patient health conditions.
Assess, document, and report patient symptoms, progress, and reactions.
Take vital signs and administer medications, treatments, and immunizations as prescribed.
Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, and coordinate hospital transfers if needed.
Monitor patients in restraints or isolation according to safety protocols.
Administer IV therapy, chemotherapy, dialysis, and blood transfusions.
Perform wound care, oxygen therapy, tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning, and phlebotomy.
Provide CPR and emergency care as needed.
Lead and coordinate Code Blue emergency response teams.
Supervise healthcare support staff including LPNs and aides.
Assist physicians with diagnostic evaluations and patient care plans.
Develop, review, and update patient care plans.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatments and medications.
Complete incident and accident reports.
Manage inventory of controlled medications and medical supplies.
Coordinate outpatient appointments, physician consultations, and prescription arrangements.
Required Documents:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) License – State of Ohio.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
CPR or BLS Certification.
