REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be available the entire work period of 04/06/2026-10/30/2026. Must agree to work Mon-Fri, 6 hours per day, Sat, 5 hours. Employer will provide transportation from employer provided living quarters to work site every day. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 3 months of verifiable experience in all job duties. This job requires exposure to extreme temperatures, ability to lift 75 lbs., repetitive movements, extensive walking, frequent stooping, extensive pushing and pulling, drug screen.
JOB DUTIES: Handling manual tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities.
Worker will install wire and will use clothes pin to pin back both sides of tunnel plastic as directed by supervisor. Worker will be instructed to pull back and pin open a portion of tunnel plastic during plant growth and remove at the end of season. Worker will assist in planting fruits and vegetables as seeds, plants and plug transplants from greenhouse. Worker will walk or ride through the field bending and kneeling to place seeds or plants into the ground as instructed by supervisor. Worker may be required to weed fields and work areas as directed by supervisor. Worker will weed by hand, with hand tools such as a hoe, mechanically or by spot-weed spraying. Worker will be trained in appropriate application of herbicides for spot-weed spraying. Worker will complete hand tasks associated with vineyard maintenance. Worker will trim grape vines and complete shoot positioning. Worker will remove suckers, spot-weed spray, repair posts and wires, thin grapes by removing grape clusters by hand, train vines and rake brush from under vines as per-supervisor instruction. Worker will be required to spray crops as directed by supervisor, using tractor and sprayer. Worker must be able to safely drive tractor and operate sprayer exercising caution not to damage crops or property. Worker must be able to read measurements, including quarts, pints, ounces, pounds and accurately combine and apply chemicals according to label. Worker will be required to wear personal protective equipment in accordance with labels. Worker will install irrigation lines such as drip irrigation tubing and other irrigation equipment. Worker will remove irrigation lines and equipment from the field as instructed by supervisor. Worker will be required to check and maintain all working components of irrigation system which include: irrigation lines, drip tape, sprinklers, headers, mainlines, valves, any other irrigation equipment. Worker will fix leaks as directed by supervisor. Worker may be required to operate a tractor/forklift for harvest and crop maintenance purposes in the fields of strawberries, cucumbers, jalapenos, hard squash, grapes, corn, soybeans and truck farm crops. Tasks include transporting produce, pulling, pushing, moving irrigation lines, and the loading and unloading of product. Worker may transport trailers to and from worksites, move trailers throughout field/loading area to allow harvest crew to put harvested product on trailer. Worker will be responsible for general repairs and maintenance of Employer's farm equipment and irrigation on the farm. Worker will repair farm equipment using shop tools such as a torch, power saw, air impact, and wrench. Shop tools will be provided by Employer. Worker may assist in grading (sorting) and packing wholesale produce. All produce is grown solely by Employer. 1) Worker will be required to make boxes for harvested product to be packed into. 2) Worker will clean and sanitize packing line/packing barn/loading and unloading areas. 3) Worker will clean and sanitize picking buckets and bins. Worker may hand place product on packing line. Worker will wash and pack harvested product as directed by supervisor, including specifications based on but not limited to: count/size/color. Worker may stack packed boxes of produce on pallets and may load trucks as directed by supervisor. Worker will label packed product if needed and as directed by supervisor. Packing forklift driver will dump bins onto packing line or loading area as directed by supervisor. Forklift driver will also replace palletized product with empty pallets. Worker will load and unload semi-truck as well as strap and unstrap trailers as directed to ensure safety. Worker will bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to 75lbs.
EMPLOYER ASSURANCES:
BOARD ARRANGEMENTS: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities so workers are able to prepare their own meals. The employer will provide transportation to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries.
HOUSING: Employer-provided housing is available for all workers who live outside a reasonable daily driving distance.
TRANSPORTATION TO WORK SITE: The employer will provide transportation for all workers living in the employer-provided housing to and from the daily work site(s).
WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE: Provided.
TOOLS, SUPPLIES, EQUIPMENT: Tools, supplies, and equipment needed to complete the job will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.
