Mercy Health Physicians North, LLC, a part of Bon Secours Mercy Health, Inc., has an opening in Toledo OH for an Internal Medicine Hospitalist.
The position of Internal Medicine Hospitalist will provide internal medicine medical care and treatment to adult patients. Diagnose, treat and provide medical services to patients. Analyze patient's medical history, medication allergies, physical condition, and examination results to verify treatment necessity and recommend best treatment. Keep medical records in accordance with accepted medical practices, federal and Ohio law, third party payer requirements, Hospital policies and the Medical Staff bylaws and regulation. Participate in quality improvement and utilization review programs of Hospital and the Medical Practice. Provide in-service training, continued medical education, and staff development programs for physicians and nursing personnel at the Medical Practice. Collaborate with and assist MHPN in: setting operational policies and procedures; recruiting other physicians for Hospital and/or Medical Practice; establishing and implementing promotional activities; assisting in maintaining accreditations, certifications and licenses; promoting positive relationships among clinical staff, administration, nursing and other personnel and referral sources; participating in public health education programs, and other community outreach activities; and participating in periodic evaluations of the performance of non-physician employees. Assist MHPN on a daily basis in the administration of management of the Medical Practice, including, but not limited to helping to supervise professional and nonprofessional employees. Be available for treatment and diagnosis of patients during evening, weekend and holiday periods. Attend meetings of the Medical Staff and committees thereof if directed by MHPN. This physician will not supervise any staff members. The physician will only oversee the medical care of the patients.
Schedule: 40 hours/week. On call 24/7 every 6th week (Friday-Thursday).
Requirements: MD or DO (or foreign equivalent); Graduate of accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Residency Program; Unrestricted Ohio Medical License; and Unrestricted DEA registration.
