POSITION: Art Coordinator

POSITION PURPOSE
The position of Art Coordinator plays a vital role in the support provided to each person in the areas of Art and Art education. The Art Coordinator provides continuous and active involvement, which includes an assertive and consistent implementation of an Individuals Service Plan, based on each person’s strengths and needs.
The Art Coordinator is responsible for the supervision and management of PALS’ art programs, including but not limited to all art activities at Art Outside the Lines, maintaining the Art budget, assisting in the Art Calendar, and ensuring scheduled activities are ran safely and properly.
The Art Coordinator will be responsible for assisting different PALS locations in setting up art programs, and overseeing and monitoring the quality of the art programs. The Art Coordinator will be required to travel to various PALS locations to assist it the set up and oversight of the art program.
The Art Coordinator is required to function as a team member with co-workers, the interdisciplinary team, and staff associates in an accountable and professional manner. The Art Coordinator will be expected to implement all job requirements in the facility and/or community setting.
POSITION’S ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage and oversee the art program at AOTL.
- Provide day to day supports to individuals who attend the program
- Perform all duties and responsibilities of a DSP including, but not limited to, supervision and supports of adults with developmental disabilities, community integration, skill building, non-medical transportation
- Oversee the AOTL staff to ensure the outcomes are addressed for individuals in the art program
- Participate in monthly meetings with the employee responsible for each location’s art program.
- Assist in training employees at other PALS locations for roles in the art program.
- Develop monthly calendar for art activities and plan daily art classes at AOTL.
- Encourage creativity and innovation across the PALS centers by assisting the programs in an as needed role in setting up art programs at all locations.
- Assist all PALS locations’ art programs in making calendars and daily activities as needed.
- Manage all current Central Ohio community partnerships when it comes to showcasing the artwork produced from the studio including, but not limited to, setting up the artwork and pricing, keeping in contact with the various entities regarding inventory.
- Periodic travel to PALS locations to monitor and oversee the art program.
- Build new relationships by reaching out to community members and networking when possible.
- Coordinating of transportation needs to & from community events in all aspects of Activities
- Coordinate Art Shows including, but not limited to, ensuring the artwork is being set up and hung properly, curating the artwork, ensuring purchasing information is accurate and available, advertising and marketing the events, and managing the event and event staff.
- Assist with maintaining the Program’s social media accounts.

- Ensure all Art equipment is in good working order, including but not limited to, programing, safety, mechanical, medical, etc.

Teamwork, Professionalism, and Communication
- Implements and follows company policy and procedures and information according to code of conduct / employee handbooks and other related materials
- Assist with individuals served, and general in-service/training for new Art employees and other support staff as requested.

- Promotes positive family, neighbor, and community employment relationships-and informs the Coordinator of ALL concerns or complaints.

Support Services, Skill Development, Assistance & Supervision, and Behavior Plans:
- Responsible to implement Art program services in a quality and in a consistent manner to each individual served.
- Maintains and demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of each persons Individual Service Plan (ISP), skill development programs, behavior support plans, medications and treatments, and general service / support guidelines and strategies.
- Monitor each individual’s personal grooming and hygiene needs, and assure that each person is dressed appropriately for weather and occasion. Reporting concerns as necessary.
- Encourage each person’s involvement in art planning, community integration, and
Health and Safety
- Assist with health monitoring and prevention, reporting concerns to the appropriate person(s) in a timely and responsible manner.
- Reports concerns with support services and programs to supervision, and makes recommendations and shares suggestions in a team oriented manner.
- Participates in fire and emergency response drills in an efficient and safe
- Demonstrates and upholds universal precautions, personal protective equipment, and hazardous communication in a professional and responsible manner.
- Upholds safety for all by use of safety equipment and proper techniques of: back supports, lifts, proper body mechanics, and other safety equipment as needed/required.
- Upon delegation and training/certification- ensures medication administration per doctors orders and reports concerns / adverse reactions promptly.
- Follows current physician orders/prescriptions, current delegation standards, and applicable medical safeguards, etc.
Staffing and Supervision:
- Demonstrates professionalism and accountability through adhering to regular work schedule, attendance, and punctuality expectations.
- Oversees day-to-day upkeep, maintenance, and cleanliness of Art programs/sites.
- Records days/hours worked on timecard accurately - as established per program/site.
- Obtains approval from supervisor for schedule changes, time off requests, and additional hours in advance of occurrence- as established per program/site.
- Implements the facilitation of established Activity routines and housekeeping duties, maintenance, and work responsibility schedules/expectations.
Requirements:
- College degree from accredited University or equivalent there of is
- Experience in teaching art, conducting art shows, and leading a group of artists in completing art projects
- Current Drivers License with acceptable driving record is
- Criminal Background verification, with acceptable clearance according to applicable rules and
- Willingness to work flexible schedule and provide responsible supervision and assistance to adults with Developmental Disabilities.
