The Opportunity: We are seeking to hire a Residential Supervisor for our Frese Step-Down Center. Under the general supervision of the Residential Manager, this individual is responsible for the overall supervision of the Frese Step Down Center for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Functions as a residential representative on the Interdisciplinary Team, assisting in the development of individual program plans for each client. Responsible for the implementation of this plan in the residential setting. Directs the daily operation of the residential setting, including staff performance, house maintenance, record keeping, etc. Assists with emergencies during unscheduled work times, if needed.
What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for program development at Frese Residential Step-Down Center, designing therapeutic activities and groups to meet the needs of the persons served.
- Conducts assessment interviews regarding possible referrals and assists in the development of recovery plans in conjunction with the inter-disciplinary service team.
- Assists in the coordination of case management services with the residential program.
- Ensures non-CSS clients including out of County clients receive coordinated care.
- Responsible for ensuring clinical record keeping in the residential setting is in accordance with established agency procedures.
- Reviews all incident reports and submits them to the appropriate persons within 24 hours of the incident.
- Trains and supervises residential aides and volunteers in the implementation of client treatment plans, maintenance of proper records, and daily operations of the residential setting.
- Trains residential staff in emergency procedures (Fire Safety, Medical, Emergency, Psychiatric Emergency, Tornadoes, Storms, etc.); ensures Emergency Drills are complete.
- Interviews and hires Residential staff and schedules work activities of assigned staff.
- Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with on-site residential staff.
- Attends meetings as scheduled.
- Responsible for overseeing and ensuring proper routine for home maintenance and housekeeping.
- In conjunction with Residential Manager, ensures compliance with ODMH, City and other relevant licensing requirements.
- Acts as liaison between residents, neighbors and neighborhood organizations.
- Reviews and monitors home spending within home budget limits and works with Residential Manager - Group Homes to operate within the budget guidelines.
- Observes all rules of confidentiality as they relate to client information, both internally and in dealing with outside individuals and/or agencies.
- Responsible for being knowledgeable about client rights and procedures governing them.
- Ensures that client’s medical needs are met, e.g. daily medication and doctor appointments, through coordination with case management.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:
- An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is Bachelor’s degree in a human service field such as psychology, social work, special education or related field required. Master’s degree in a human service field preferred.
- A minimum of three years experience working with mentally ill, developmentally disabled or emotionally impaired person required, or comparable supervisory experience. Prior residential experience and supervisory experience preferred.
- Applicant must successfully pass required criminal background check and drug test.
- Possession of a valid Ohio driver’s license.
- Insurability through the Agency’s vehicle insurance carrier.
- Ability to document personal identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act [I-9] requirements.
