Description

Build a Foundation in Government Procurement and Compliance

Position Summary

Sabel Systems is seeking a Summer Procurement Intern to support our Contracts team in a fast‑paced GovCon environment. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced procurement and contracts professionals, gaining hands‑on exposure to federal contracting, compliance, purchasing workflows, sourcing, supplier management, and proposal support. You’ll also build practical familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS), creating a strong foundation for early‑career roles in procurement or contracts. This internship is ideal for students in business, finance, legal studies, supply chain, or related fields who want to learn how procurement and contracts enable mission‑critical government and commercial programs.

This is a paid, full-time (40 hours/week), 10-week summer internship running between May 18 and September 11, 2026, with a hybrid schedule (1–3 days onsite) in Beavercreek, OH, or Tysons, VA.

Work You’ll Do

  • Support proposal activities, including document organization, compliance checks, and data gathering
  • Help track contract requirements, deliverables, and key milestones
  • Assist with maintaining contract files and documentation in accordance with company policies and government regulations
  • Support coordination with Accounting and Project teams related to invoicing, job cost tracking, and contract closeout activities
  • Assist with subcontract documentation, modifications, and vendor communications
  • Conduct basic research related to FAR/DFARS clauses and contract requirements under supervision
  • Help prepare correspondence and reports related to contract administration
  • Support procurement and purchasing activities, including assisting with purchase requisitions, vendor quotes, and purchase order documentation
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining procurement files in support of audit and compliance requirements
  • Help track supplier onboarding documentation, certifications, and representations
  • Support price and market research activities for goods and services under supervision
  • Assist in reviewing procurement requests for completeness and required approvals
  • Support coordination between Procurement, Project Teams, and Finance for purchasing and vendor payment processes
  • Help prepare basic price analysis and sourcing documentation using established templates
  • Assist with monitoring open purchase orders and supporting close-out activities

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Accounting, Legal Studies, or a related field
  • Strong academic record, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset
  • Ability to follow procedures, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship

Compensation

This is a paid, temporary, Summer Internship compensated at $25.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience and current level of education. Internship participation does not guarantee future employment; however, high-performing interns may be considered for upcoming opportunities based on business needs, performance, and available roles.
