The Quality Engineer I is a key member of the Quality team. The role is an integral part of the quality team and will help drive strong quality systems with high effectiveness. The Engineer I will work closely with the customers to resolve customer issues which help save money.
You will have the opportunity to:
Identify and collaborate on customer issues. Ability to utilize root cause analysis tools to identify possible causes of issues and bring forth ideas to resolve.
Support quality standard (ISO9001, AS9100D, ISO17025, etc.) through participation in the quality system such as documentation, internal and external audits, calibration, etc.
Collaborate with peers to ensure everyone is on the same page.
Participate in teams and projects throughout the site(s) which drive improvement in efficiency, yield, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific or technical field required
Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy preferred
3+ years of experience in a metals or materials production environment is preferred
General knowledge of systematic quality management systems is required
ETQ experience is required
Demonstrated ability to complete tasks on time is required
Strong computer skills including Microsoft suite
Effective communicator for groups of customers and employees
Ability to train
Solution oriented
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Language: English
Preferred: Ability to travel (10% or less)
Physical Demands – While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch.
Environment – Employee is required to wear all proper PPE. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to low concentrations of fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. All such exposures are customarily within limits established by federal and state regulatory bodies. The noise level in the work environment is usually low. May be requirements of travel 25-50% within the first 6 months.
