Job Description Summary
We are searching for an Area Manager to join our Minerva, OH team!

The Area Manager is responsible for: managing the day-to-day operations of manufacturing facilities. Define, monitor, and is held responsible for overall operations performance. Implement production, cost, and quality control mechanisms. Oversees operations, ensuring that schedules and performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively. Manages staffing, development, and performance management programs for operations staff; manages, motivates, and develops management team. Manages relationships with business, sales, and engineering; defines, delivers, and manages required service levels. Coordinates strategies, communications, and joint initiatives for facility.

Job Description:

Meet with Operations Manager, Production Supervisors, and Scheduler to coordinate order priorities and related problems affecting scheduling such as quality, material available, machine conditions, personnel shortages, etc.

Guide, direct and coach direct reports in daily tasks.

Budget and manage personnel staffing levels and machine coverage, etc. based upon evaluation of customer order commitments. Assign Production Supervisors according to production needs and according to each individual's abilities and talents.

Ensure department personnel practices conform to the personnel department's policies and programs. Ensure that safety procedures are followed and monitor safety statistics. Review and investigate all accidents.

Monitor production throughput in relationship to customer requirements. Reassign employees to correspond to the work flow and to production needs.

Ensure that machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production.Escalation of major equipment problems or obsolescence and submit recommendations for improvements.

Attend production, team, launch and safety meetings. Communicate activities with other department managers.

Performs other duties as required.

Required Skills and Education

Bachelors Degree or relevant industry experience.

3-5 years progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experienced in lean manufacturing and 5S.

Experienced with FEMA and Statistical Process Control.
