RESPONSIBILITES
Under general supervision, the Electrical Equipment Technician is responsible for multiple electrical and mechanical maintenance areas. Highly proficient experience in PLC controls and programming, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, welding, and general machine maintenance.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Connect valves, hydraulic, mechanical or electrical controls and indicating instrumentation.
- Ensure the line hook-ups are orderly and safe.
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain automated and mechanical and robotic equipment and machinery, applying general mechanical, electrical, electronic and hydraulic principles.
- Troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of Fanuc and other robot controllers, electrical control devices and mechanical units.
- Conduct the machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation.
- Responsible for troubleshooting Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Programmable Logic Controllers and electrical systems.
- Read blueprints while diagnosing/troubleshooting problems
- Perform preventative maintenance of hydraulic systems
- Set-up and troubleshoot robotic systems, using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems
- Install and maintain instrumentation used in wind tunnel testing including pressure, temperature, force, angle, and motion measurements.
- Calibrate and repair a wide variety of Environmental Chambers
- Experience with emissions measurement equipment or certification testing is preferred
- Proficiency with metal fabrication and welding a plus
- Experience in Automotive Emissions equipment maintenance, repair and calibration
- Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems
- Perform Preventive Maintenance, Cleaning, adjusting and repairing HVAC systems
- Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Additional training in Automation, Robotics, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Basic computer skills required, proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- 5 years’ experience with electrical control systems, PLC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Strong Ability to organize work and meet deadlines.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unit of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to use multi-meters to read voltage, current and resistance values.
- Previous Experience in an R&D environment is preferred
- Machine maintenance and diagnostic/troubleshooting experience required
- Experience in Wind Tunnel testing and Wind Tunnel control systems
- Experience in electrical and electronics, instrumentation and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in Automotive Emissions equipment maintenance, repair and calibration
- Knowledgeable of programmable logic controllers, ability to read electrical schematics.
- Able to use analytical equipment to specifications
- Knowledgeable in basic mathematics and proportionate calculations
- Knowledge and skills to understand wiring schematics, control systems and relay logic circuits.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required.
- Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
