Job Description

A REMOTE Model-Based Enterprise Senior Engineer job is currently available at Belcan. This is a full-time direct position with benefits. To be considered, you will need 2+ years of Model-Based Definition (MBD) application experience in any CAD platform, or 5+ years design modeling experience using Siemens NX CAD platform. As an MBE Senior Engineer, you will execute tactical tasks as part of customer-aligned digital engineering delivery teams.

Job Duties:
*Execute technical and tactical tasks as part of customer-aligned digital engineering and Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) delivery teams, supporting the adoption of Model-Based Definition (MBD) across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain environments.
*Support supplier enablement and digital transformation initiatives, including assisting in supplier capability assessments, developing digital transformation roadmaps, identifying pilot parts and operations, and contributing to supplier maturation toward NSE MBE Maturity Index Level 4 adoption.
*Contribute to the development and maturation of MBD standards and practices, including documenting customer current-state authoring and validation standards, supporting future-state maturity planning, and advising on modernization of traditional 2D drawing practices to enable model-based workflows.
*Author and validate Model-Based Definition datasets to support pilot programs, exploratory workflows, and digital engineering demonstrations, while helping develop and document best practices for geometry, annotations, metadata, attributes, product characteristics, view states, and other model elements.
*Participate in pilot programs and technology evaluations to advance digital interoperability and downstream data reuse, including collaboration with software vendors to test and improve MBD authoring and validation tools and staying current with emerging digital engineering technologies.
*Contribute to technical knowledge development and industry engagement, including participation in CAD and digital engineering user groups, involvement in relevant industry standards organizations, and development of technical specifications, presentations, and guidance materials.
*Support organizational capability development by delivering training, mentorship, and technical guidance on MBD authoring, validation, and downstream consumption across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain organizations.

Required:
*U.S. Citizenship required.
*Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related engineering discipline.
*Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD), including a minimum of 2 years applying MBD within a CAD platform or 5+ years of design modeling experience using Siemens NX.
*Working knowledge of model-based engineering standards and practices, including ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.41, and ASME Y14.47, with experience applying Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) and enabling its reuse in manufacturing and inspection workflows.
*Familiarity with digital product definition interoperability formats, such as 3D PDF, HTML5, STEP, QIF, JT, or similar formats used to enable downstream consumption of model-based data.
*Experience supporting digital engineering or supplier enablement initiatives, including supplier readiness assessments, digital capability maturation, or deployment of MBD practices across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain environments.
*Strong technical communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to learn new technologies, communicate complex concepts clearly, and work effectively across cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and information technology.
*Demonstrated growth mindset and forward-thinking approach, with the ability to identify opportunities to apply emerging technologies and evolving engineering processes to solve business and technical challenges.

Preferred:
*ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Certification
*Experience applying Model-Based Definition (MBD) in CAD systems beyond Siemens NX, such as PTC Creo, CATIA, or SolidWorks.
*Working knowledge of Siemens digital engineering tools, including NX advanced modules and licensing packages such as Fibersim, Mechanical Routing, Electrical Routing, PMI Advisor, Check-Mate, and Tolerance Analysis, as well as familiarity with Siemens Teamcenter applications supporting the digital thread, such as Teamcenter Quality, Teamcenter Manufacturing Process Planner, and related product lifecycle management (PLM) capabilities for managing product definition, manufacturing planning, and quality processes.
*Experience applying Lean and Agile engineering practices to improve digital engineering workflows, delivery efficiency, and team collaboration.
*Experience supporting organizational change management initiatives, particularly related to adoption of digital engineering, model-based practices, or new engineering tools and processes.
