Job Overview: 

The Materials Warehouse Technician will coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between materials and manufacturing departments according to the production schedule. Duties include pulling/staging of parts for production according to the schedule, daily cycle counting, verifying incoming order quantities, checking quality of items, packaging orders for shipment, loading and unloading of trucks and occasionally picking up parts at vendor locations.  Responsibilities also include all inventory control/cycle counting at vendor locations. Computer knowledge of Acumatica or similar inventory control software and bin control knowledge of inventory control helpful. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must have the ability to speak with poise, voice control, and confidence, using a well-modulated voice.
  • Must possess the ability to coordinate a variety of routine projects and activities simultaneously without losing control, poise, or professionalism.
  • The majority of the time will be spent in a manufacturing/assembly shop environment.
  • The normal workday will be from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. However, the hours may be longer when specific activities dictate; thus some extended schedules may be necessary. 
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk, talk, or hear; use hands and fingers to handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, fumes or airborne particles.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but could occasionally be high.     

Required Skills and Qualification:

  • Graduation from high school and one (1) year experience in a computer-aided warehousing operation, or any equivalent combination of education and experience to include one (1) year experience in forklift operation or willing to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Must be able to obtain OSHA required Forklift Certification.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control practices.
  • Working knowledge of computer terminal operation.
  • Considerable knowledge of equipment operating principles and procedures.
  • Considerable knowledge of hazards and safety precautions relating to equipment operation, loading and unloading of materials
  • Must possess the senses of sight, hearing and have excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Must be able to comprehend and use various business math formulas. Must be able to utilize spreadsheets and other software in formulating possible results based on different scenarios.
