The Senior Compensation Analyst reports to the Total Rewards Director and plays a critical role in supporting the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs at Materion. This position partners closely with HR and business leaders to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices that attract and retain talent. The role also supports the maintenance and optimization of compensation systems and contributes to broader total rewards initiatives.
This position offers a hybrid schedule. Monday and Friday are designated as remote days, and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are in-office days at our corporate headquarters in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the annual compensation review processes for merit, bonus, and equity
Advise HR leaders, Business Partners, and other internal stakeholders on salary proposals, salary structures, job evaluations, promotion requests, and other compensation-related initiatives
Partner in the development of the strategy, design, analysis, budgeting and implementation of new executive and non-executive reward programs
Conduct market benchmarking and participate in salary surveys, analyzing data to inform pay positioning and strategy across various geographies and functions
Serve as the Workday Compensation Partner by maintaining the job catalog, reviewing compensation transactions, conducting data analysis, and performing regular data audits
Prepare and analyze compensation reports, delivering insights and recommendations to senior management
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or a related field
4+ years of experience in compensation, or related area
Proficient in HR System Software, Workday preferred
Experience working with equity compensation or sales incentive programs preferred
Advanced understanding of job analysis and proper FLSA exempt status evaluation
Proficient in Excel and data analysis, able to model scenarios and interpret complex data into clear, actionable insights
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
