Job ResponsibilitiesPatient Care

* Provide competent clinical and technical support in alignment with CCHMC policies, best practice guidelines, and department needs within an outpatient psychiatry setting.
* Prepare patients and families for visits by gathering information, supporting rooming workflows, and assisting providers during assessments and visits as appropriate.
* Support patient care that reflects family-centered care and the medical home model, with particular sensitivity to emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs.
* Deliver flexible, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care that respects the dignity, privacy, and unique circumstances of each patient and family.
* Partner with families as active participants in care, supporting shared decision-making and reinforcing education provided by the care team.
Customer Service

* Serve as a patient and family advocate, creating a welcoming, calm, and supportive clinic environment.
* Respond thoughtfully and promptly to patient and caregiver questions or concerns, particularly those related to behavioral health visits and follow-up needs.
* Provide age-appropriate and family-appropriate education and guidance as delegated, reinforcing visit expectations and next steps.
* Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and emotional intelligence when supporting patients who may be experiencing distress or anxiety.
Collaboration & Teamwork

* Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, therapists, and administrative staff to support coordinated care.
* Follow complex direction and workflows while maintaining flexibility in a dynamic outpatient clinic environment.
* Build positive working relationships and contribute to a culture of respect, trust, and psychological safety.
* Share knowledge, support peers, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the clinic.
Data & Documentation Management

* Accurately manage patient records in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
* Assist with data collection, forms, releases of information, and consent documentation as required.
* Demonstrate strong attention to detail with timely, accurate documentation and data entry in the electronic medical record.
* Maintain confidentiality and comply with all privacy and compliance standards, especially related to behavioral health information.
Clinical Support & Testing

* Perform or support delegated clinical tasks within scope and training, as appropriate for the outpatient psychiatry setting.
* Maintain knowledge of applicable testing, screening tools, and workflows used in behavioral health care.
* Communicate results or next steps as delegated, ensuring clarity and sensitivity in all patient interactions.

Job Qualifications
Required:

* High school diploma or equivalent
* One of the following:

* Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program with no directly related experience required, OR
* Complet
