Pay: $48,000 - $52,000

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for teaching diesel and medium/heavy truck technology courses ranging from foundational knowledge to hands-on maintenance training. This role includes developing lesson plans, delivering instruction, conducting assessments, monitoring student progress, and maintaining a safe and effective learning environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and deliver classroom instruction using strong organizational and planning skills
• Plan and conduct instructional activities, demonstrations, and hands-on training
• Provide opportunities for student engagement, observation, and investigation
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods
• Maintain a professional and positive learning environment
• Evaluate student performance and provide feedback
• Assign and grade coursework and exams
• Maintain accurate student records and reports
• Utilize instructional tools, equipment, and technology to support learning
• Assist with curriculum development and program improvement
• Enforce policies, procedures, and safety regulations
• Manage classroom/shop equipment, materials, and inventory
• Maintain required certifications and credentials
• Participate in professional development and industry updates
• Support student growth and career readiness
• Perform additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in diesel, medium/heavy truck, or equipment technology field
• Ability to instruct and engage students in both classroom and shop settings
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge of industry standards and safety practices
• Ability to evaluate performance and provide constructive feedback
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:

• ASE Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Prior teaching or training experience
• Shop management experience
• Experience in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment repair
• Student-focused mindset
• Commitment to professional development
