About this opportunity:
Cenovus is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join us at our Lima refinery. In this role, you will help ensure the accuracy and completeness of procure-to-pay processes in accordance with Cenovus and LRC Financial, while supporting accounting and process controls, financial and management reporting, and account reconciliations. You will also contribute to business unit initiatives and serve as a key point of contact for leadership and functional area managers to support accurate financial reporting, along with assisting on special projects.

What you'll do:

* Provide leadership, guidance and accounts payable expertise in administration of the refinery accounts payable process
* Monitor all related work practices and perform/supervise audit of the procure-to-pay process and internal controls as needed
* Ensure monthly accounting results are accurate and up to date including accruals for un-processed items
* Liaise with refinery staff and head office support to ensure procure-to-pay process is delivering world class results
* Ability to provide guidance in all core payable processes including reporting and planning
* Performs various other analysis and accounting duties to support the department
Who you are:

* Legally authorized to work in the US
* High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree with a specialization in Business or Finance an asset
* 2+ years of related work experience, refinery experience or similar considered an asset
* Strong analytical, financial control, reporting skills; Able to interpret and communicate financial information with clarity
* Good understanding of how Finance processes and systems operate; Advanced Excel skills preferred and PowerPoint experience
