Job Title: Machine Operator

Position Summary:

The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dairy processing and packaging equipment used in the production of pasteurized milk, yogurt base, smoothie base, and ice cream mixes. This position ensures that all equipment is operated according to established procedures and quality standards to maintain product integrity and compliance with SQF, PMO, and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, and adjust dairy processing and packaging machinery including fillers, blenders, pumps, valves, and HTST systems.
• Perform product changeovers, line start-ups, and shutdowns following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Inspect equipment prior to use and report mechanical or safety issues to maintenance or supervisors immediately.
• Record production data such as product type, lot number, temperature, fill weights, and yield in production logs or ERP systems.
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), allergen control, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Assist with daily cleaning, CIP/COP activities, and equipment reassembly when required.
• Collaborate with QA Technicians to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
• Participate in training, continuous improvement, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure accurate labeling and lot coding of all finished goods.

Qualifications & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating food or beverage manufacturing equipment (dairy experience preferred).
• Ability to read and follow production schedules, batch sheets, and work instructions.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of pasteurization principles, food safety, and sanitation procedures a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a cold/wet production environment.
